Professional development

Demands for well-developed leadership and management skills at the University are increasing. This applies across the organisation, from departments and strong research environments to laboratories and administrative services.

In accordance with Lund University’s strategic plan, leaders and managers in all parts of the University and at all levels are to develop in their roles through training and support. Professional development is offered in the form of a number of courses and programmes. These can be found in Kompetensportalen (the Professional Development Portal).

Guidelines for management positions at Lund University 

The Guidelines for Management Positions are to apply to all managers at Lund University, regardless of the type of management position, organisational level or organisational affiliation. A manager is a person with responsibility for operations, staff and budgets.

The aim of the policy is to set out Lund University’s expectations of the expertise that characterises successful and well-developed academic leadership. The policy covers all leadership positions and is to be used as support in developing, inspiring and recruiting new leaders.
