The boards play a central role in matters relating to research, doctoral education, staff responsibility, disciplinary matters and good research practice. Education Board

The University-wide Education Board is responsible for strategic education issues across the faculties at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level. Its remit also includes quality assurance and quality development. The Board, which includes representatives from all faculties, decides on education-related issues on delegation from the Vice-Chancellor.

Research Board

The University-wide Research Board deals with strategic research issues across the faculties, and has a particular responsibility for facilitating and supporting the University's cross-border research. The board, which includes representatives from all faculties and specialised units, is primarily preparatory and advisory, but decides on specific issues on delegation from the Vice-Chancellor.

Research Programmes Board

The University-wide Research Programmes Board is responsible for strategic doctoral education issues, including quality assurance and quality development. The board, which consists of representatives from all faculties, decides on doctoral education-related issues on delegation from the Vice-Chancellor.

University Admissions Board

The University Admissions Board and its Presidium handle admission matters for first- and second-cycle programmes that are not of a faculty-specific nature.

Staff Accountability Board

The Staff Accountability Board (PAN) deals with matters relating to disciplinary liability, prosecution, suspension and dismissal of staff for personal reasons. It is chaired by the Vice-Chancellor and includes representatives from the unions. Notifications to the PAN are made by managers in consultation with HR, and the Board meets six times a year or as needed.
