Lund University has been ranked 85th in the world in the QS World University rankings, making it the top ranked comprehensive university in Sweden.

QS has published university rankings annually since 2004 and the ranking is done in collaboration with Elsevier. On 27 June, QS published its latest list (Ranking 2024) in which 2,963 institutions were evaluated and 1,503 universities were ranked.

Lund University has been in the top 100 for several years and this year comes in at 85th place. Lund University has improved ten places compared to the previous year, from 95th to 85th. This is the best result since the 2018 ranking.

Emily Boyd, director of the Sustainability Forum at Lund University, thinks it is positive that sustainability has been included in the ranking.
“It means that sustainability research has an important role to play and the result shows that it is a strong area for Lund University. There are many committed forces behind the result, together we can work for sustainable social development,” says Emily Boyd.
