Changes to our central collective agreements from 1 January

A conversation between two persons.

Last autumn, the Swedish Agency for Government Employers negotiated on changes to our general agreements on pay and benefits (Villkorsavtal) agreements with all three employee organisations Saco-S, OFR/S and Seko at national level. The changes apply from 1 January 2024.

Broadly, these changes mean:

  • Holiday pay guarantee is increased to SEK 1600 per day.
  • A new form of paid leave is introduced, for attending antenatal care. Read more: Other types of leave | Staff Pages (lu.se)
  • Disease carrier pay is replaced by disease carrier allowance (Swedish Social Insurance Agency) and disease carrier allowance supplement. 
  • New procedure for reimbursement of medication costs. Read more: Reimbursement for healthcare and medicines | Staff Pages (lu.se)
  • Paid leave for assessment and examinations is withdrawn.
  • The option of paid leave for moving house and relocation allowance in case of promotion are withdrawn.
