The Lubas system previously consisted of three modules: Lubas-utbud (information on courses and programmes), Lubas-kursplan (course syllabus) and Lubas-utbildningsplan (programme syllabus). The module for course and programme information was replaced in spring 2021 by a new, more user-friendly version that was more adapted for accessibility. Now it is time to upgrade the system module for course syllabi.
All information will be collected in the same system, which now makes it easier to work on course syllabi, course instances and course information (for lunduniversity.lu.se and universityadmissions.se). The new Lubas course syllabus module will make it simpler for users to work on all stages of courses in an interface that is user-friendly and adapted for accessibility.
The new interface provides better opportunities to ensure the quality of information relating to authorisation and in the texts for course syllabi. The interface was developed as one of the measures identified in the final report of the project, Improved application of rules within Lund University.
In addition to the system now having a modern and adapted interface, the Lubas course syllabus module has been designed using new technology that facilitates management and continued development.
First and second-cycle course syllabi, including contract education courses linked to Ladok, will be created in the Lubas course syllabus module. When a course syllabus is produced, basic information for the establishment of the course is sent to Ladok. The course syllabi are generated in PDF format and presented on an index page from which lunduniversity.lu.se or lu.se can retrieve links that are published along with the presentation of the course on the university-wide website.
The Lubas course syllabus module is used by all the faculties except LTH.

Handbook for writing course syllabi
The Handbook for Writing Course Syllabi, produced by Student Affairs, has been published in connection with the new Lubas system becoming operational. The handbook is to act as support for staff who are creating, reviewing and making decisions regarding course syllabi.
The handbook applies for all of LU’s courses with established syllabi (including credit-earning commissioned education). The handbook has the same structure as “Application of Rules Regarding First and Second-Cycle Course Syllabi at Lund University”.
The handbook contains text with comments on the background to the rules and regulations but is not in itself a set of rules. The aim is to provide good examples and cover the different parts of the syllabi.
You do not need to read the handbook from cover to cover – a good approach is to read relevant sections.
