Primula up and running again after shutdown

A few weeks ago, TietoEvry, a subcontractor of the National Government Services Centre was subjected to an extensive IT attack. At Lund University this meant that Primula was inaccessible from the morning of 20 January until the late afternoon of 2 February.

The Primula shutdown had major consequences. It impacted, among other things, the handling of salary-related cases and the connections between Primula and other systems.

Once the shutdown was over, the University prioritised the prompt processing of salary-related cases ahead of the payment of the February salary. On 6 February, the connection was restored between Primula and Varbi, the University’s recruitment system, which meant that the registration of new employees could be handled according to regular procedures.

Throughout the shutdown, Lund University conducted an active dialogue with the National Government Services Centre and TietoEvry to monitor the situation and was able to guide the University’s organisational units regarding the handling of cases.
