The decision has been taken in dialogue with the Council for Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities, the Multifaith Chaplaincy and student organisations. The decision means when renovating or building new spaces, the need for rooms for reflection and contemplation is always to be investigated.
The rooms are to be open for all whatever their religion or other belief, sex, gender identity and expression, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation or age.
The rooms are not to have any religious symbols, but visitors are welcome to bring personal items such as books and yoga or prayer mats.
There are currently three rooms for reflection and contemplation at Lund University, one at the Centre for Languages and Literature, one at Campus Helsingborg and one at the School of Economics and Management.
