Review of Central Administration is now complete

A review of the Central Administration’s organisation and working methods was conducted during the spring. The review presents several proposals for changes that will strengthen a value-creating and benefit-driven administrative organisation.

The main focus of the review was on whether the current organisation and working methods are well adapted to the processes they are to support, whether there are organisational units that work on similar tasks that should be coordinated and whether new functions that have been added in recent years are optimally organised. There has also been a focus on how the Central Administration can be better at taking on new assignments and how conditions for cooperation and collaboration can be enhanced.

The review includes proposals to:

  • form an international office
  • clarify the remit and organisational placement of commissioned education
  • consolidate the security function and
  • strengthen support for digitalisation.

The review was presented to staff in the Central Administration at a webinar and will be discussed in university-wide management bodies such as the Vice-Chancellor’s Management Council, University Administration Management Group and Central Administration Management Group before the university director makes a decision on which changes are to be implemented.

The review was carried out in accordance with the Platform for Strategic Work and the measure concerning the development of a value-creating and benefit-driven administrative organisation based on the actual needs of core activities. Deputy University Director and Head of the Strategic Development Office Karin Ekborg-Persson has led the review at the request of University Director Susanne Kristensson.
