The University’s annual academic ceremony will take place on 26 January

During the ceremony, Lund University’s first honorary fellow, Ingvar Carlsson, will be appointed. The University’s gold medal will be awarded to Anne L’Huillier and Ambassador Jonas Hafström. In addition, the winners of the University’s administrative prize and the students’ Prize for Excellence in Teaching will also be honoured.

The University’s annual academic ceremony is a formal ceremony. It is usually held around Karldagen, the anniversary of the founding of Lund University in 1668. All staff, students and members of the public are welcome to attend the University’s annual academic ceremony on 26 January 2024.

Time and place: 26 January 2024, 16:00 in the Main University Building.

The distinction of Honorary Fellow at Lund University is being bestowed for the first time. The award will be given to a person who has made outstanding contributions in public or private activities and who has been of significant importance to Lund University in particular, but also to society at large.
